Make your own cross stitch patterns
We wanted to use this post to share another website with the cross-stitchers out there. (No, this isn’t sponsored in any way, it’s just something we found useful and thought you might too!)
Since Cross-stitch is popular, here’s an easy way to make your own cross stitch patterns for free. Floss Cross is a free site that lets you create your patterns online, change their sizes and adjust the colours to suit your level of experience. You can upload images, or draw your own design as a basis. FlossCross does work with Pattern Keeper and allows downloading as PDFs as shown above, so if you are old fashioned (like me) and print everything, it can still be useful.
Here’s a flosscross pattern I made earlier as a proof of concept. At 70×70 stitches and 6 colours it isn’t one I have time to sew right now, but it is simple enough. If I had wanted to I could have made it 200×200 and more realistic, but it would take even more time to sew.
Download Here: Butterfly Wool (70×70)
or for contrast here’s the same pattern at 30×30: Butterfly Wool 30×30
The patterns come with a list of the needed colours and suggested stitch types or fabric, so if you find you need a few extra colours, why not stop by the shop? Or just pop in to show off your newest creations and what images you designed.
Happy Sewing!
